You can bring in your own, or get one of Rock Coast Brewery’s branded growlers to go. Take home your favorite RCB beers, and enjoy the heck out of them!
Here are some tips for getting the most out of your growler.
If you’re bringing one from home, be sure you’ve washed and sanitized it thoroughly and sealed it tightly. Even when your beertender washes it for you, if you have stuck-on goop stuck inside there, it’s going to affect the flavor of the fresh beer.
Chill it right away. Keeping the beer cold ensures it stays fresh until you can get home and drink it.
It’s best to drink the beer from your growler within 24-36 hours, but a week is usually fine. Make sure the cap is tightly sealed so that the carbon dioxide isn’t as likely to leak out.
When you’ve finished the beer (yay!), wash it immediately in hot, soapy water. Use a bottle brush to make sure you’re thoroughly cleaning all the surfaces inside. Again, anything that’s caked on will definitely affect the flavor of the next beer you put into it!
One the growler is completely dry inside, recap it so that it’s ready to go for the next time!
